Night Mode and a fast brightness slider are incorporated into Windows 10, but they don’t work on extended monitors or desktops. You must manually change the brightness levels on each monitor if you utilize a multi-monitor arrangement. However, employing brightness and screen dimmer apps for Windows 10 can help you get over this.
Brightness and Screen Dimmer Apps
1. Dimmer
Dimmer is a simple Windows screen dimming software that supports multiple screens, as the name implies. The program creates a gray overlay on all the screens, and you may dim them by moving the slider. I tested it with a three-monitor configuration, and it worked perfectly. Dimmer is a lightweight application. To use Dimmer, simply extract the zip folder and double-click it.

The main drawback is the app’s lack of controls. There are no keyboard shortcuts or user-defined settings available. However, if you only require a basic app, it works flawlessly
Features:
- An app that can be taken with you
- Different displays have their own controls.
- There are no hotkeys or built-in presets.

2. PangoBright
PangoBright is a screen dimmer app for Windows 10 that works similarly to Dimmer. Instead of a slider, it displays percentages in the system tray. PangoBright, in addition to the standard capabilities of Dimmer, gives you the option of changing the screen’s tint color.

For example, during the day, an orange hue on the display would be preferable, whereas, at night, a yellow tint would be preferable. All of this is possible with PangoBright with just a few clicks.
Features:
- Increase or decrease the brightness level in percentages.
- Change the color of the tint

3. CareUEyes
CareUEyes is based on the apps described above. It has manual controls for screen white balance, brightness, and other features. If all of these settings are too much for you, there are built-in presets for different circumstances such as Office, Editing, Gaming, Reading, and so on. On top of it, you can also create your own presets.

The ability to set up hotkeys to increase or decrease brightness is my favorite feature of CareUEyes. So, instead of having to open the program every time, I can use keyboard shortcuts to alter the brightness of all of my monitors. The app’s only drawback is that it doesn’t offer distinct controls for each monitor. The adjustments are applied to all linked monitors.
Features:
- Editing, Gaming, Reading, and other presets are included.
- Support for multiple monitors
- Sliders for brightness and white balance
- Support for hotkeys

4. F.lux: Brightness Screen Dimmer Apps
For Windows 10, F.lux is a popular screen dimmer and night mode program. Even though Windows 10 comes with a built-in night mode, it’s very basic. First and foremost, it does not allow you to change the tint’s white balance value. F.lux, on the other hand, has all the customizing options you’ll need in a screen dimmer app.
When you initially use f.lux, it prompts you to enter your location and adjust the brightness according to the time of day. It offers three alternative white balance tones for dawn, sunset, and nighttime, for example. You can tweak these settings and add more white balance timers if you want.
Furthermore, you may use f.lux to control smart lights such as Philips Hue or Yeelight. It will adjust your screen’s white balance as well as the lighting in your home.

Features:
- Multi-monitor setup is supported.
- Adjusts based on the time of day in your region.
- Syncs with smart lights like Philips Hue, Yeelight, and others.

5. Iris Screen Dimmer
Iris Screen Dimmer is a blend of low-power and high-power settings. That Screen Dimmer is a simple program that may change your screen brightness settings automatically based on the time of day. This Iris Screen Dimmer also allows you to fine-tune brightness, gamma, saturation, and other settings manually if you’re a power user. All of your settings are synced across several monitors.

Iris Screen Dimmer is a premium app, which is the sole drawback. You receive a 7-day free trial after which you must pay $1.99 each month.
Features:
- White balance, saturation, and brightness are adjusted automatically based on your location’s timings.
- Settings are synchronized across numerous monitors.
- Advanced controls for fine-tuning brightness, saturation, and blue light, among other things

6. Win10 Brightness Slider
Instead of being a screen dimmer, Win10 Brightness Slider is a brightness adjustment program. Other programs, instead of adjusting the brightness, apply a tint to the display. On the other side, the Win10 Brightness Slider transmits commands to change the brightness of monitors and expanded displays. Your monitor, on the other hand, must support DDC/CI and have it turned on. In case you don’t know, DDC/CI lets software control the brightness and other settings of the monitor

The simplest basic brightness control app in Windows 10 is the Brightness Slider. It just resides in the system tray and allows you to adjust the display settings. It shows one slider if you just have one monitor connected, and two different sliders if you have two monitors attached.
Features:
- The Taskbar has a brightness slider for multiple displays.
- Only DDC/CI displays are supported.
- App that can be taken with you

7. DisplayTuner: Brightness Screen Dimmer Apps
DisplayTuner, like Win10 Brightness Slider, works with DDC/CI monitors. Aside from the brightness slider, DisplayTuner also lets you change the gamma, RGB levels, and other settings. It also allows you to manage the audio levels and desktop screen orientation from within the software.

DisplayTuner’s only drawback is that it does not operate on laptop screens. If you have a laptop that extends to a monitor, for example, it will only work on the monitor and not on the laptop.
Features:
- It supports DDC/CI monitors.
- Gamma, RGB levels, audio, screen orientation, and other parameters can all be tweaked.
- Custom presets and hotkeys are available.
- It doesn’t support Laptops

8. ClickMonitorDDC
Click Monitor CDC is similar to DisplayTuner, but it offers far more flexibility and hotkeys. It also allows you to adjust brightness and audio levels for different times of the day, in addition to the regular brightness and sound levels. You must first manually configure it within the app.

You also get a bunch of hotkeys and support for mouse actions. The support for mouse actions is extremely intriguing. If you have two monitors, ClickMonitorDDC will appear in the system tray with two icons. To increase or decrease the brightness, simply hover over the ClickMonitorDDC icon in the system tray and rotate the mouse pointer. To fast switch to a preset, you can set up double-click mouse actions.
Features:
- Support for DDC/CI monitors
- Customizations, hotkeys, and mouse actions are all supported.
- At different times of the day, you can have varying brightness, saturation, and contrast levels.

Conclusion: Brightness and Screen Dimmer Apps for Windows 10
Dimmer is a portable program that enables you to adjust individual monitors for a limited use case. I love f.lux since it requires very little manual configuration and works beautifully. If you’re a power user, you should consider ClickMonitorDDC, a brightness control tool.
