Following the work-from-home craze, Google made its Google Meet service available to everyone. The search giant shifted its focus from Hangouts to Meet and quickly introduced additional features. Part of it was due to Zoom’s meteoric rise in popularity. During a virtual meeting, for example, you can blur out or modify the background. The guests will not be able to see your exact location. Instead, they can only look at the background you’ve chosen. Google Meet goes a step further by allowing users to download and use Google Meet backgrounds from their PC or Mac for use during video meetings.
Download Google Meet Backgrounds
As previously stated, Google Meet comes with a variety of preset backdrop wallpapers from which to choose. Users can also import one from the PC or Mac storage. It can be difficult to locate high-quality, royalty-free photos. You won’t want to waste time looking for appropriate backgrounds for your next meeting on the internet.
Let’s have a look at a few websites that provide high-quality royalty-free photos. We’ll also go through how to modify the background of Google Meet and other ideas for making the best first impression during a Google Meet call.
Find Google Meet Backgrounds
You may get a fun Google Meet background in one of two ways. You may find millions of photos for personal use on royalty-free websites. If you’re looking for a certain image, look for websites that allow authors to sell you their work for a fee.
1. Pixabay
Over 1.8 million photos are available for free on Pixabay. From the home screen, open the website using the link below and search for free photographs. Photos, Illustrations, Vectors, and more can be found on the default page. Start searching for photographs in the Photos tab.

You can look for images of cafés, meeting rooms, well-known locations, and more. Both portrait and horizontal photographs will be shown on Pixabay. To show only horizontal photos, use the Orientation filter at the top.
Select the images you want to download and click the ‘Free Download’ option. Then choose your resolution and you’re done.

2. Unsplash
Another fantastic place to look for colorful wallpapers for Google Meet video chats is Unsplash. Unsplash’s collection is superior to Pixabay’s in my opinion. It offers a bunch of wallpaper collections right on the home screen.
Vertical resolution photographs aren’t recommended for video calls because they won’t look decent.
Search for Desk on these websites if you’re like me and don’t want to go overboard with the wallpaper background on Google Meet.

For example, in the image above, I searched for ‘desk’ on Unsplash and got the following results. It has a professional appearance and accomplishes the task at hand. It also seems natural, making it difficult for participants to notice that the background is a bespoke wallpaper.

To utilize Snap Camera with Google Meet, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Download the Snap Camera app for PC or Mac from the Snap Camera website.

Step 5: Exit the Snap Camera application. Don’t be concerned. The software continues to run in the background.
Step 6: Go to Google Meet by using a web browser.
Step 7: Change the Google Meet settings to use Snap Camera as the service’s default video camera. In the upper right corner, tap the Settings icon.

Tips for Google Meet Meetings
- If you’re using low-end technology, such as a Windows laptop or a MacBook Air, you should avoid using a custom background on Google Meet because it will slow things down.
- Sit away from an open window because the light effect behind you will be distracting during a video conference.
- When you don’t need to say anything, use the Google Meet Mute feature.
Conclusion: Download Use Google Meet Backgrounds
Custom backdrops for Google Meet are a must-have feature for everyone. Use the advice above to make an impression when you join or create a Google Meet gathering.
