As a video editor, I normally edit our YouTube videos with Movavi Video Editor. Depending on the editing conditions, I also utilized Final Cut Pro X. When you first launch the software, you have the option of starting a new project or opening an existing one. Moving on, I’m reminded of Final Cut Pro X by the slick and modern interface (which is a good thing). You can import your media files into the project library on the top left, where you can also create bins and events. The similarities don’t stop at the user interface; when it comes to enhancing and speeding up the editing workflow, Filmora9 borrows extensively from Final Cut Pro. You can now add up to 100 video and audio tracks, thanks to the most recent upgrade; phew! After that, you’ll encounter the “magnetic” timeline, which may take some getting used to.

But it has to be the zoom-in/out gesture within the timeline that is my personal favorite aspect of editing with Filmora9. On both Final Cut Pro X and Premiere Pro, the ‘long press and drag’ gesture is significantly easier to use than the usual zoom handles. I truly wish the more powerful editing applications could use this capability.
Similarly, Filmora9’s keyboard shortcuts are simple to learn, such as “Ctrl + B” (Cmd + B on Mac) for Split and “Ctrl + Z” (Cmd + Z on Mac) for Undo. You can’t change the keyboard shortcuts, unfortunately. Finally, Filmora9 astonished me by allowing me to download media files from Facebook, Instagram, and Flickr. You can download your posted photographs and videos once you’ve logged in. I think it’s a clever touch.
Transitions & Effects
Filmora9 has a large library of transitions and effects that may be downloaded or pre-loaded. In addition to the standard filters and overlays, you’ll find text templates like “Subtitles,” which allows you to choose from a variety of text fonts and colors for your subtitling. The “Elements” template, which consists of animated symbols and shapes, also struck me.
So, if you’re working on a casual family film, consider adding some “Hand drawn doodles” or even some “animated pet faces” to brighten things up. If you’re making a tutorial video, for example, the markers from the “Tutorial” menu will come in handy. Not only that, but you may also use Filmora’s online library to get additional effects and royalty-free music.
Filmstocks
Filmora’s online collection includes downloadable filmstock effects, royalty-free music, and stock movies and photos, all of which are organized by popular topics such as travel, architecture, and wildlife. Stabilization
We were all looking forward to seeing how effectively Filmora9’s new stabilizing tool worked. To be honest, I was underwhelmed by the performance, which is understandable given the circumstances. To be honest, even the most proficient editing software, such as Premiere Pro, has difficulty creating totally stabilized videos. Upgrades to the tool are, however, clearly a positive step forward.
Export Options
MP4, WMV, HEVC, AVI, MOV, F4V, MKV, TS, 3GP, MPEG-2, WEBM, GIF, and MP3 are among the video formats supported by Filmora. You can also directly export videos to video hosting sites such as YouTube and Vimeo or burn them to DVD. I used a Dell Inspiron PC with having 5th generation processor of core i5 to evaluate the rendering speed. The rendering took roughly 15 minutes for a 4:27 minute video, which isn’t awful when compared to Premiere Pro.
Pricing
The best thing about Filmora9 is that you can use all of the software’s functions for free. But, as with anything nice, there’s always a catch. Wondershare directs you to download a trial edition of Filmora9, which adds a watermark to your films. In order to get rid of it, you’ll need to buy a yearly or lifetime license. Despite the fact that the pricing is competitive in my perspective, I feel compelled to make a complaint.
The watermark limitation of the trial edition is obfuscated on Filmora9’s product description page. Even while editing the movie, there is no watermark visible in the preview area. It’s only when you watch your exported video that you realize it. So I’d prefer Wondershare to be more forthright about this limitation in the Filmora9 trial edition.
