Instagram is used by almost everyone I know. And a friend of mine entered onto his Instagram account from my iPhone the other day and couldn’t log out, claiming that they had unintentionally tapped “Remember Login Info.” On Android, deleting accounts is now a one-tap operation, but I was surprised to see no equivalent option on iOS. After a little poking, I discovered that this option is hidden deep within the Settings. So, if you find yourself in the same boat as me, here’s how to get out and remove saved login info on Instagram.

Removing Instagram Account on Android is easy
Unless you specify otherwise, Instagram retains your password for simple login. This holds true for the app’s Android and iOS versions. In the case of the Instagram Android app, however, erasing your stored account from the app is simple and available directly on the login page.

Even if you don’t see this option, you can log out of all logged-in accounts on your Android smartphone by going to the Instagram app’s settings and clearing Cache and App Data.
Removing an Account on the Instagram app for iOS
The Instagram iOS app stores your logins as well, but unlike the Android app, you can’t just delete saved login information from the login page; instead, you have to dig deep into settings to find the option. In the Instagram app, there are two scenarios in which you might want to erase your accounts’ login information.
- You have many accounts logged in simultaneously and want to delete one or all of them.
- You just have one account and want to delete any saved login information.
1. Removing Multiple Accounts Saved Login info
The majority of people have numerous Instagram accounts, including personal and professional accounts. It’s simple to delete numerous Instagram accounts if you have many accounts logged in. Simply log out of your account and proceed to the Login Page.
On the login screen, you’ll notice many accounts, as illustrated in the figure below. The little “Edit” button should be pressed. Every account now has a tiny x button next to the login button. To log out of your account, press the X button.

To delete the account’s login information, tap the Remove button. Repeat the same for all of the accounts you’d like to be deleted.

2. Remove “Login Info” of a Single Account
If you’ve saved login credentials for one account in the Instagram app, the procedure above will fail. On the login page of the app, there is no option to change or delete accounts. Even if you delete and reinstall the Instagram app on your phone, the account remains.
Log in to your Instagram account through the app to deactivate your account. Tap your Avatar button in the lower right corner of the app to go to the Profile Page. Now, on the upper right, tap the Hamburger button.

By tapping the Gear button, you may access the Settings menu. Select Security Settings from the list of options on the Settings page.

On the list, press the Saved login information option to show its options. Turn off the switch next to ‘Saved Login Information.

The toggle switch turns off the automated password saving feature and allows you to delete any previously saved login information. During my testing, I was able to successfully erase the saved login information from the Instagram app.

Return to Settings and log out of your account, making sure to tap ‘Not Now’ to prevent the app from saving your login information again.

It will prompt you to touch the red Log Out button once more. You’ve successfully logged out of Instagram, and your information is no longer saved in the app.

Remove the Facebook App
I used the previous two methods, but because I had the Facebook app installed and my Instagram account is linked to my Facebook account, I was able to get in without entering the password. To clear all traces, you must uninstall the Facebook app from your iPhone.

If you don’t use Facebook, you may uninstall it by holding down the Facebook app icon and selecting Remove app.

Last Words: Remove Saved Login Info on Instagram
On the Instagram iOS app, this was a quick way to erase the account login information. The lack of a delete button is most likely due to iOS’s design constraints, and they were forced to go that route. You may now easily delete Saved Login Info from the Instagram iOS app. Let us know if you had any issues with this strategy in the comments.
